Harusi Company – A Kenyan Wedding Planning Story

We at The Harusi Company were very privileged to take care of two very special clients from the Diaspora – Naomi and Michael.  This wedding was a classic case of two determined people who wanted to get married back at home but were faced with the challenges of how to do it without breaking the bank or running mad in the process J

This is where we came in as The Harusi Company.  Thanks to technology, good planning skills, an available bride who was always online with us and a groom who knew what he wanted for his bride  we were able in a span of 6 months to prepare a wedding for what was initially supposed to be for 200 guests that eventually became for 300 guests.  Now Naomi loves blue and she knew the exact blue she wanted which was not very easy to get here in Kenya but with a lot of walking around and eventually placing an order for the fabric to come from Dubai we were able to have an elegantly beautiful blue and white wedding in Tigoni.  The venue selected was absolutely beautiful as it gave the contrast to the color scheme.  Naomi and Michael were very specific from the word go, theirs was going to be an elegant outdoor wedding and the bride especially wanted her princess bride moment and we gave her a queen bride moment as she was definitely the queen on that day.

Now when planning a wedding for clients who are not in the country we at The Harusi Company  we look at making sure the stress level of the couple is at zero by using modern technology that will make the couple feel like they are right here preparing the wedding.  At the end of the day when our couple lands in Kenya they find everything is set, from the designing and tailoring of all the outfits (both men & women), to the floral arrangements, to the venue, to the photographer and the transportation ….our job is to have a ready-made wedding for them…theirs is just to rest after their long flight, get beautiful or handsome in the case of the groom and turn up for their wedding day.

The big day  arrive and with beautiful bridesmaids in blue, flowergirls in blue and white, grooms men looking very nifty in black suits with blue waistcoats, blue cravats and white shirts it promised to one unforgettable wedding.

Our beautiful bride Naomi looked lovely in white and she was a sight to behold as she stepped out of her limousine red carpet holding a beautiful orange bouquet ( the stretch limousine was long enough to carry all of the bridal party, the children and the bride so you can imagine just how long it was.)  What we loved at The Harusi Company was the effort Mike the groom took in adding elements such as the limousine and their favorite songs as part of the wedding songs playlist that just made the day even more special.

Now we all notice when the bride arrives but Mike definitely set the pace as to what the guests were to expect in terms of dressing when he arrived at the wedding in a hammer and in a custom made  white suit..  Now grooms are usually very organized with their smiles but boy did Mike have one ear to ear throughout his big day as he not only got to marry the woman he loves but he did it in a style uniquely his and later commented that we at The Harusi Company are “Rock Stars”.  The bride was not to be left behind with her compliments to us and as she put it “Tabitha, this is way more than I could ever have imagined”.  Now that is what we call satisfied customers.

It just goes to show that with a great planner you can be millions of miles away from where you want to old your wedding and be assured you will get everything done way beyond your expectations.
