Planning a Wedding? 12 Wedding Tasks That You Don’t Have To Do Immediately!

12 Wedding Tasks That You Don’t Need To Do Immediately!

Planning the biggest day of your life can be quite a task! You need to fine-tune every detail so that your wedding turns out perfectly! Some wedding tasks, however, do not have to be done immediately. Check them out below.

  1. The Music Playlist
  • Planning your wedding music shouldn’t be done too early, as you are bound to change your mind. Make a list of your favorite tunes, and hand them to the DJ at least a month before the wedding.
  1. The Rings
  • Collect your rings from the jeweler closer to the wedding day, so that you can fit them and confirm that they are just right. Make sure that the jeweler polishes them for you.
  1. Final Dress Fitting
  • Some brides lose weight just before the wedding, while others become a little chubbier. The final dress fitting should be a few weeks before the wedding so that the tailor can make the necessary adjustments.
  1. Vendor Confirmations
  • By now, you have paid all your deposits, and every vendor knows your requirements. Confirm with each one, and send them a schedule of events for the day.
  1. Gift Storage
  • Some of your guests will bring gifts that need to be stored in a safe place while you’re on your honeymoon. Identify a place where the gifts will be kept safely, and who will transport them.
  1. Plan the Day’s Schedule
  • The timing for the wedding day needs to be accurate right down to the minute, to avoid delays. Make a program that will be distributed by your point man to everyone concerned with the smooth running of the day.

  1. Delegate the Day’s Tasks
  • Identify a trustworthy person to control the day’s program on your behalf. You’ll also need to get people to do small wedding tasks for you, like ushering, registering gifts at the gift table, and monitoring the vendors.
  1. Final Vendor Payments
  • Most vendors prefer to receive their final payments on the wedding day. Put the payments in envelopes, and get your point man/woman to hand them over at the end of the day.
  1. Prepare Printed Directions to the Venue
  • Anyone who is not familiar with the wedding venue will require a map. Get these ready early enough for distribution to friends, family, vendors and transport providers.
  1. Do a Final Head Count
  • Based on the number of RSVP’s you receive, estimate how many people may attend the wedding. Pass on this information to the caterer, as well as those providing transport and accommodation.
  1. Prepare the Wedding Favors
  • Preparing favors is one of those wedding tasks where you will need help. Get your close friends to come and organize the favors, as you catch up with them one last time before the wedding.
  1. Pack
  • Pack the day’s essentials – makeup, tissues, wipes, and other personal items. You’ll also need to pack your honeymoon bag, as there is little chance you’ll go back home after the wedding.

The wedding tasks above may not seem urgent, but they are crucial to the smooth running of your wedding. Also, remember that weddings can never be perfect, so if anything goes wrong, laugh it off and move on!
